This semester, we will focus on 'English for Fine Arts': Music, Theatre, Cinema, Photography, Painting, et al. Architecture as Art.

What is 'Art' and what are "Fine Arts"? Why do people do Art? Is there 'good' and 'bad' art? What possible motives can there be for someone to do Art? Other ideas to be discussed in class. Writing, Drawing, Visual arts, Performance(s). Museums. Galleries. Other places exhibiting works of Art.

There will be activities in class and at home. Students who wish to study one specific Fine Art, e.g., the Cinema, can conduct some research into it and present their project in class (optional).

For those students who would like to attempt writing a project, in order to be exempted from the final examination in "English 3":

1. Projects can be individual or in pairs. Both parties have to be clear about their contribution to the project and it has to be equal.

2. DATE OF SUBMISSION: 19th of March

3. DATE OF PRESENTATION: BEST BEFORE 25th of March.
