The material is based on two sources mainly:
(1) Part of the online publication by Professor Emeritus Dennis O' Neill. According to Section 107 and Section 108 of the 1976 US Copyright Act, as well as by permission granted by the author, the material (by Dennis O' Neill) may be used by the students and Instructor solely for academic reasons.
It deals with 'what culture is', as broadly defined by anthropologists and Mr O' Neill:
(a) "What is Culture?": "Layers of Culture", "Culture and Society", "Is Culture Limited to Humans?" + "Quiz" (in class).
(b) "Characteristics of Culture": "Culture Is An Adaptive Mechanism", "Culture is Learned".
Documentary Film: "The Journey" (on Greek Immigration to the USA, 1880-1970s). The film is based on historic facts and includes interviews with Greek-American 2nd generation immigrants. Time: 1hr28min approximately.
